Official meetings with cultural, academic, Francophonie and sport partners took place over four days in Quebec City and Montreal.
Mr. Jeholet took advantage of a visit to the national capital to celebrate the ties of friendship and strengthen the collaboration that unites the governments of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and Quebec. He met with several ministers to discuss the main thrusts of his mission: Geneviève Guilbault, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility; Martine Biron, Minister of International Relations and Francophonie; Mathieu Lacombe, Minister of Culture and Communications; and Pascale Déry, Minister of Higher Education. He also renewed his friendship with the Mayor of Quebec City, Mr. Bruno Marchand, as well as with the main institutional and civil actors of the Francophonie in Quebec City.
His mission continued in Quebec and in Montreal under the themes of education, culture, innovation, digital and sport. Meetings were held with Ericka Alneus, Councillor responsible for culture at the City of Montreal, as well as with Laval University, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and the Canadian Olympic Committee. Mr. Jeholet also visited the School of Digital Arts, Animation and Design (NAD), and met with representatives of various incubators (Le Camp, Zù), technological, cultural and creative industries (Xn Québec, La Piscine, Printemps numérique and the Guilde des jeux vidéo du Québec), the book industry, the comedy community, and several festivals.
